As part of our science rotation this term, when classes visited Mr Fourie they undertook an inquiry into how to improve the school planter boxes. Lots of research and planning went into how this could best be done. At the end of the term, students split into teams to focus on four main aspects; compost bins, worm farms, irrigation and soil quality.
On Wednesday and Thursday we had two working bees where all of that great work was put into place. All of the gardens were moved, the poor soil was taken away, irrigation systems were laid down, the boxes were replaced, new soil was added and some funky class labels were added, (thanks Mrs Notley!) The gardens are looking great now. I can't wait to see how well the new plants will grow!
I think the gardens will be much more healthyer now
