story
It was a cold and dark august night, no one around. Leaves were flying all over the place. Big grey clouds covered the night sky. Thunder bashed.
When Beth and Bailey slowly tiptoed into the haunted house and looked around. "Are you sure its safe in here, we should go its really dark and late" Beth said faintly.
"Oh grow up, its fine" said Bailey firmly
Then life came through the wall, the doors creaked and the floor boards flung up.
"AHHH RUN" they both squealed

Can Art
On Thursday we had to bring a empty can to School.So we could do the can art some people had to Miss out. The first thing we done was line up then when it was turn we put soil in the cans then put Seeds in.Then water.

The Reremoana School Gala is coming up really soon!! There will be Jumbo sales, The Terminator, Water walkers, Laser Skirmish, The Chocolate Tombola, Quck fire raffles, Jolly jars, Sausage sizzle, The dunking machine, The cake stall and much, much more!!
We are really desperate for helpers and we would really appreciate it if you could help!!
The Gala would be held at Reremoana School, 15 Scotsmoor Drive, Watte Downs, On Saturday The 9 of March.

Week four can art
Week four can art :)
In Week four Room 12 and Room 13 had to bring some tin cans.
We needed to bring them so we can do can art for the gala.
We each named cans and then got in a line for the compost.
Then we put in some seeds and then we watered them. When the seed grow they will be the hair and we draw the face.
All of us put our can on the window cill so they can have sun and stay healthy.Some of them look a bit drowned, dry or just fine but they are all going fine. Some people take them to the fountain and water them while others use theirs drink bottles.When they sprout fully we will make faces on them. (Not just human faces anything.)
Now it has sprout out a little.When it is fully out they well be healthy.
celebration
on friday at Reremoana School the hole intier school gos to the big hall. Each team would get a tern to share what we have done during class or just a play that they have done. This week its the kereru team.
Mr. Munro shaves his hair!!!!!
This Monday Mr. Munro brother of Colin Munro pro cricket player. The two brothers will be shaving their hair cut for a cure, it will be held at Reremoana school this Monday at 1:45.
Botanical gardens trip
Room 12 was lucky enough to get picked to go the Botanical gardens on the 20th of March this month. Room 12 is the only class going from Reremoana school and the trip will be free.
Week 4 in Room 12
NARRATIVES
In Room 12 we have been doing narratives. Narratives are like a story. We had to focus on the chartacters, time and setting. Evreyone was aloud to write their own. The first time we had to write a narrative,we had to only write about the setting and time. The secound time we only had to focus on
the characters. The 3rd time we got to do one with everything.

On Wednesday this week we had P.E but it was run by our favorite sports teacher Mr Fourie. We learnt
some cricket skills. We learnt how to bowl, field and bat. Room 12 also had some record holders. BJ and Ryan who won with batting and bowling.
Narratives
During Week 4 we have been writing narratives. We had to choose a time setting and at least 2-3 characters. We had to write the whole story using the narrative rubric. Also we had to use describing words, past tense and much more.
Swimming Trials
SWIMMING TRIALS
This week, a few students from Room 12 and Room 13 participated in the swimming trials at Sykes Road pools.
There were three Year 5's and eight Year 6's. Only 10 students got the opportunity to take part in the swimming competition at Manurewa High School.

On Tuesday this week we had to bring a can. We needed that can so that we could put some soil and seeds and enter a compition for the gala. So far we can see little sprouts in the cans.

Yesterday in the green reading group had to build bridges out of 30 ice block sticks and a ball of blue tack .the contestants were Taine Bj Viki Marianne Tristan Ella the winners were Taine and Bj

For our warm ups we had to do four activities to get our minds into art. One of our warm ups were called blind sketch we had to look at the person and try not to look at the art that we drew. The second activity was called opposite hand we had to sketch with our opposite hand

Wheelay
Today for celebration, we are doing the Wheelay. The wheelay is a ginormous wheel spray-painted on the soccer field and there are 16 spokes from the centre of the wheel and 16 groups. The teachers number the kids down and they run to there groups.
How the wheelay works:
1. Everyone stands up
2. The hooter goes
3. They pass the battern down the line
4. When it gets to the top, the person first runs clock-wise around the wheel
5. If u want to overtake, do it on the outside
6. When u get to your spoke run down the side

ON friday we had a mufti day we each dressed up. We had to bring some food that did not expire by the gala Mufti day was fun.

SCIENCE
In Room 12 we have been doing science. First we had to make a tittle page, then we did seeing colours. For seeing colours we had to draw a diagram of a torch a mirror and a piece of paper and had to write about it. For the second thing we had to do reflectors transmitters and absorbers. We get science homework on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Wheelay
On friday the 22 Febuary for celebration we are going to be doing the wheelay. The wheelay is a massive wheel witch is spaypainted on the soccer feild. In each group there was a mixsure of big kids and little kids. There is about 16 people in each group.

This week we have not been doing normal fitness we have been following Room 13's fitness routine. How it works is room 13 make up some things to do at fitness time and then thay lead us through it and after we do the fitness routine we do same srechers to cool off.The other day we did Hayleys routine. Part of the routine was doing the greatvine and the brupey,push ups and some other fitness activteys too.

intro, when we finsh the intro then we had write the ending. Some of our narrative's have
topics like the Philippines, candy-shops, the beach and abandon houses. Marianne and
Victoria chose good topics because they knew their topic really well.
Art-Portraits/Warm Up

Recently in room 12 we have been drawing a detailed portrait. We have also been doing some art warm ups, such as Blind Sketching, Left hand sketching, Keep your pen on your paper sketching and 10
second sketching. They have all been pretty crazy, funny and well done.
The Man that we have to sketch is quite detailed, so we have to be very careful. We had to smudge the dark lines/creases and leave the pale bits white.
All in all art has been pretty fun (:
orieteering
In room12 we had done orienteering for fittniss. It was quiet difficuit and realy fun. We where in groups of 2 and 3 there were 4 coases A, B, C and D. Then after 10 minutes we had to finish.

This week well yesterday we did our family in maori...
We had to bring as part of our homework, a few photos of our family on our pen drive.
People had there Mum, Dad, brother and sister some even went to the extreme of getting
there cousins photos and there grandparents photo too.
But it was very easy as we had a vocabulary list and had a sentence to stick too following .

Sams birthday/Team sports
In room 12 we celebrate peoples birthday and on 19/2/13 it was Sam's birthday. At the end of the day Sam brought a packet of mini twin Kit-Kat packet they were ssooo NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also on sunday Sam is going to bring three friends to go bowling.

SAM's birthday
In room 12 it was Sam's birthday this week.Sam is now ten years old.His special gift was a little Kit kat. He had a busy day. Sam invited 3 best freinds to bowling on Sunday. He invited Riley, Gabriel and Joshua.

Art in Room 12, week 3!
In Room 12 we have learned to make proper portraits with Miss Salt. We drew horizontal and vertical guide lines. Then we drew the eyes, nose and mouth, then we drew the pupils in the eyes. After the pupils we had to draw the eye brows and creases in the head. The eye brows were thick and there were two or three creases. After we did that we smudged the pencil to do the shading in the dark places. Finally we did the hair. To do that we were just told to go CRAZY. The hair was curly so to draw it absolutely correct would have been very hard. We just colored the top of the head with the pencil. Then we were done. When we had all finished our hair we looked at other peoples art. Some of them looked like Frankenstien some like a samurai and some said underneath the drawing "I'm watching you".(Michaels joke)

Science - Physical World - Seeing Light
Room 12 has just finished a two week unit in Science. We have learnt all about light and how we see different colours. For our final lesson we got to make a 3D model of our eye.

Art with Ms Fothergill!
Art with Ms Fothergill.
On Wednesday, Ms Fothergill came to room 12 and together we studied zentangles.
First we practice some easy zentagle art, when we were happy with the
art that we did first, we got to the diffcult part.
We had to practice the piece that we adored the most, then when we
were satisfied, with it we had to publish it.
We were so delighted at the end result WE ARE ARTISTS!
Week 2
LOCAL NEWS!
Yesterday,and the day before Room 12 were making Zentangles with Ms Fothigill. On the first day Ms Fothigill told us about Zentangles,and how to make them.She showed us some real ones and then we were all given a practice.We each drew a square pattern in pencil and sharpie....Then the 8 shaped pattern with lines....Then some of us did the third and the fourth practices.
SPORTS NEWS!
Room 12 are doing lots of sports since they started school witch is killing us!
They do lots of running, stretches and drink lots of Water.
Zentangle art with Ms Fothergill
On the 12th and13th of February Ms Fothergill came into Rm 12 and taught us some amazing art. She was incredibly helpful especially when we were stuck on a tangle. We all loved having Ms Fothergill, we also had lots of fun along the way and even got to sneak in a second Zentangle in there as well.

In room 12 we have made a post cards.We had to write down what we did in the holidays.

Mufti Day
On friday the 15th of Feb we had a mufti day at Reremoana School we had to donate cans, bottles and packets of food.next week is sorting different to this week. The resin we have mufti days in the beging of the year is because we have to get lots of stuff for the begging of the year gala it only happens ounce a year. At the gala we have the dunking mashen, water slids candy flow hot dogs chips rock clamping and much much more

In room 12 mrs Fothergill has taught us how to draw Zentangles. We had a to use little 10x10 square pieces of paper. Mrs Fothergill gave us a piece of paper and we had to practice how to draw the design on the practice paper. When we had finished practicing our design we tried to modify that design, then we puplished it

Library Time
Yesterday afternoon our class went to the library, and when we walked in what a surprise it was! There were heaps of new decorations and books, we got to choose two books out of many others. =)
Our library days are Thursday. So if you're wondering where your child is on a Thursday afternoon and the class room is locked, we'll be safe and sound in the library.

Kereru sports
During this week we have started kereru team sports. The different sports that we did was cricket,t-ball
,hockey,volleyball.We had loads of fun when we played the games.We thought that kereru sports was very good plus it was quite challenging when we played t-ball because some people found it hard to hit the ball properly.

Setting up our classroom
On Monday the 4th of February we designed our classroom
we had to vote for a design there was 6 chosen designs that we were able to vote for the winner was BJ. The layout was smart because we had a big learning area to sit on and listen to Miss Salt .We have lots of space to move around in and lots of different areas to learn on different tables.
