Student Led Conferences

On Tuesday 10 December we are having a Student Led Conferences.

This is a great time to come into your kids classroom and find out what they have been doing throughout the year.

They are going to be held from 3.30pm till 7.00pm

Each conference will be about 15min's other, children from the class could be at the same time as your child that is because of the conferences being 5min intervals.

You can book your child's conference time at www.schoolinterviews.co.nz or using the notice at the back of the notice you will get.

This is due back on December 6 but we did not get it out on the right day so book as soon as possible.

My favourite toy when I was young

My teddy...

Purple patches of warm, soft cotton fur
I feel the stuffing coming out of the little rip by its leg but it still gives me joy seeing my childhood friend.
I smell the aroma of berries lingering towards towards me. I follow the scent sniffing like a bear and I find my teddy sitting there on my bed.
I here the sound of squeaking from my toys arm and a smile races across my face.
I see the words MY FIRST TEDDY written across my teddys chest in slightly darker purple treading. I can taste the cookies, chocolate milkshakes, orange juice and lollies from my tea parties I had with my teddy named purple teddy.
Its amazing how just one teddy can make me feel like the most wonderful girl in the world.

Auckland Council

This week we had a great day when Mr Bailey and Kristy (From park department) came to hear our park ideas.
We had Victoria share her story about the huge park that she saw when she had a holiday in Aussie.
It had a tennis courts, a toddler play ground, a little kids play ground and a senior play ground.
They had a soccer field, a ruby field and other sport courts and fields.

Mrs Bailey told a few Boys/Girls that we should put together a paper and cardboard 3D park.
That did not go that well, it was just about to fall over when Riley said that we needed a new plan.
We used SketchUp to make this happen.
Here is the end result! We hope you like it!

It was made by Tristan, Riley, Gabe, Ryan, Michael, Mrs Bailey and Victoria (ideas).

We showed this to Mr Bailey and Kristy and they said that it would be to expensive to put it all together
and they could make parts of them go to the parks around Wattle Downs.
This is really good. They talked to us about how expensive this will be.

Jared.R had a idea to do a fundraiser so our school could help buy parts of the park.

Soon we will be looking at the prices of park equipment and Mrs Bailey is going to give us a price limit and we would need to see what we can buy that is fun with a small amount of money.

A thanks to Mr Bailey and Kristy for coming in and telling us about the Auckland Council.

CAMP

CAMP

YEAR 5 AND YEAR 6 TOOK A BUS TRIP TO CHOSEN VALLEY IN RAMA RAMA.

When we arrived we all went into our cabins. My cabin number was twelve. I was in the inside cabins. Kowhai was our groups name. After we had unpacked and settled ourselves we had an activity which was a treasure hunt. We needed to be rushing around, taking photos, working as a group and trying to locate everything and complete it first

Our next activity was balance island. There was only 2 hard parts but one was harder than the other. The hardest part was you had to swing on a long rope above dirty muddy water. This is really hard when you are short. After every group had finished their activities, all of them met at the kitchen above the the inside cabins. We all ate our packed lunches. My group had the rope maze after the lunch

When all of the activities where done for the day and dinner was finished every group practice their talent show item. After practicing their talent item everyone went into their cabin. I had Jared B, Jared R ,Antonio,Ryan and Sam. I had a bad sleep because Jared B would keep on sleep talking. So I told a parent then a the parent told Mrs Bailey. She told Jared to get out. It was stink because Jared R got sick so he had to go home. I felt a little homesick and I missed my family. I know its only the first night but I got through it. All of the other activities that were on offer were Archery, Confidence coarse, trolleys, water slide, flying fox and kayaking. Day two and three chosen valley served us three meals a day. breakfast lunch and dinner. i was happy and sad when we where leaving because I missed my family and i knew i was going to miss chosen valley. When I got home i hugged my parent tightly

Chosen valley was a great experience and I would hope it is as fun as I had it
